Ford Fuels Support Newbury Soup Kitchen

Ford Fuels recently donated to this very worthwhile charity and met the founder Meryl Praill, who has just been awarded an MBE for her endless charity work. She is such an inspirational passionate person. Steve Hannan from Ford Fuels had the pleasure of visiting the charity a meeting Meryl and some of the volunteers.

Often, food becomes a gateway to meaningful conversations, fostering trust and engagement with those who feel isolated and marginalized by society. Homelessness can stem from various reasons, and its effects can be devastating.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive range of services, addressing not only the physical needs of our clients but also their emotional and social well-being. We invest significant time in offering support, encouragement, and empathy, empowering people in need to reach their full potential in all aspects of life. Our ultimate goal is to provide vulnerable individuals in society with a voice, boosting their confidence and enabling them to make positive life decisions for a better future.

Each donation we receive allows us to continue delivering our essential services, providing the necessary assistance to anyone who requires that extra helping hand and support. Particularly in these times, the need to aid those isolated by poverty, mental health issues, and addiction is paramount. Our efforts have expanded to include homeless reduction, as many of our clients struggle to maintain their accommodations amid rising food and fuel prices, leading to rent arrears and exacerbating mental health and addiction challenges.

It is our wish to establish a permanent Community Support Centre in the heart of Newbury. With the hope of acquiring a suitable building, we aim to expand our services to meet the growing needs of our community.”
